Cartoon Illustration

If you were able to complete the photo illustration, you shouldn't have too much trouble completing this assignment. We will combine the skills we developed in the Hexapus lesson and in the Photo Illustration lesson in order to complete this lesson.

Use the pen tool and basic shapes to recreate one of these files. You can use the original as a template to help get it all right, but when you're done, put your copy next to the original, so we can see both.

What you need to do

Download one of the cartoons provided, and start tracing all the shapes. Some of them will be easier to build if you use simple geometric shapes and modify them. Other parts might be easier to build by using the pen tool. Some will need a bit of both. Take time to get all the details right. Some shapes have strokes and fills, some just a stroke, or just a fill.

When you're finished with the project, paste your copy beside the original and save it as a single file, like this:

What you need to turn in:

Your completed completed comp as shown above. Save it as "Cartoon_astudent.jpg".

What I will be grading:

You will get credit for submitting the correctly completed assignment on time. For full credit, it must be as exact as possible.
