Virtual Re-Decorating

Complete the lessons in class, then open this image. Your job is to fill the room with (virtual) furniture, decorations, etc. You may take images from the web to decorate with. At the minimum, you must:

paint the walls (or use wallpaper)

add a rug or carpet

add couches, chairs and at least one coffee table

change the view outside the windows

add a lamp or lamps

put some art on the walls

If you like, you can adopt a pet!

Don't forget to resize your image when you're done.

You should end up with a room that has some kind of unifying theme, whatever that may be. Here are some examples from previous courses.

What you need to do:

Complete the Re-Decorating Project

What you need to turn in:

Your finished, re-decorated room. Name this file: room_astudent.jpg

What I will be grading:

Technical Outcomes: Alpha channels, vector masks, and quick masks are used for selection. Transforming and warping were employed to shape images.

Formal Outcomes: All objects added to the room are adjusted in such a way that they appear to fit correctly, share common lighting, color and textural characteristics. Entire scene is formally believable. Image is clean and sharp.

Conceptual Outcomes: Room has a conceptual theme.
